Direct Selling .. Product and Idea

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

Today's post has been striking my head for quite a while, but the urgent and immediate coverage of both QNET and Pathfinders remarkable media presence in the last couple of weeks, took my efforts to a different direction. For the striking news of QNET and Pathfinders in Egypt local market in the last couple of weeks, please refer to the Arabic version of this post.

One of the most profound success factors in Direct Selling and Network Marketing is the good, and even detailed, knowledge of the products and services being promoted, and in what way these goods and services are distinct and unique. This topic is so important, when it comes to Network Marketing, as it is often misunderstood that Network Marketing promotes for low quality over-priced stuff, which makes it a money scam like the Pyramid scheme. The difference between Network Marketing and the Pyramid scheme is crucial to understand and I'm going to cover this in the near future.


This is the most arguable debate over Network Marketing, and this is simply refutable by the well-established knowledge of the goods and services. Honestly speaking, most of those in the Direct Selling and Network Marketing business are somehow responsible for this negative impression due to their lack of knowledge about the stuff they are promoting, and their intense focus on the commission plan alone. This is a common mistake, especially by beginners, who are seeking quick results. They may get themselves over-committed by promises of getting rich quick, which in turn, enhances the impression that Network Marketing is the same as the illegal Pyramid scheme; a means of targeting others' savings by using people's rush and greed for getting quick and easy money.



Another reason for this misconception of Network Marketing is the Direct Selling companies themselves, or, to put it right, those entities claiming to work in Direct Selling. Those illegal entities flooded the market with incompetent products that never stand a chance against their counterparts in the market. Such entities make use of the wide spread and the success of the leading companies, on top of which comes QNET, to set their foot in the market. This of course damages the reputation of the business, and in the first place, ruins the lives of many of their victims.



However, the good news here is that those entities are quickly exposed, and most of them, maybe all, has spent less than five years in their so called business. This five-years period is the "make or break" for any emerging Direct Selling company. QNET celebrated its 15 anniversary in September 2013.

In Egypt, these scams have been the breaking news since April 2013. The news was shocking as some Egyptian celebrities have been victims of these scams, and in turn, they were followed by other thousands of victims.

Despite the negative impact of arresting those scams on the whole Direct Selling in Egypt, QNET has not been influenced for long. Indeed, QNET has emerged as the most, and perhaps the only, decent and renowned Direct Selling company in the market, due to its distinct and remarkable products and services. According to Egyptian officials statements during this crisis, QNET has received much positive appraisals.



So, the product is important. It comes ahead of the Idea of gaining commissions. Commissions alone can not justify a product unless the product can stand a solid case for itself. Therefore, I am going to dedicate quite a number of posts to talk about my personal experience with QNET stuff, which emphasizes both distinction and exclusiveness I referred to in my early posts of this blog, and shall continue to do in the ones to follow.

"Empy your cup!" .. Your success path in Network Marketing

 


Does the cup in the picture accept more fluid? What happens to the poured fluid when the cup is full? Surely spells over the cup.

The story you are about to read is one of the most famous metaphors for our subject today: "Empty your cup", which is the key success factor in Network Marketing.

The story took place in Japan, particularly in a small village, whose people were often unable to afford the cost of sending their children to government schools. However, and as an alternative, they send their children to the school of "Master Suzuki".

"Master Suzuki" was a man of great wisdom, and mastered the art of meditation and life coaching. He was one of a kind and a renowned figure in his field which made him well known in all over Japan.

And one day, a guy from the city, called "Yuki", decided to join "Master Suzuki" school. "Yuki" was smart. He had a PHD, and was fond of developing himself, and heard a lot of the renowned "Master Suzuki", thus he decided to register in his class.

According to "Master Suzuki" rules, first grade students devote themselves to serving the higher grades students. In day one, "Master Suzuki" gathered the first grade students and gave each his assignment of the job workload. The job included cooking, laundry, and toilet cleaning, which happened to be "Yuki"'s assignment!

"Yuki" did not get it. And of course was dissatisfied. "How could I clean other people's '...', while I'm holding a PHD?!!!", he thought to himself. Therefore, he decided not to work with his hands and instead, he started to delegate his assignments to his colleagues and made a supervisor of himself over them.

A year passed, and exams results have been published. "Yuki" was the only one in his class who failed his grade! He was to go through the hard work of service for another year to come. Fast and furious, "Yuki" broke into "Master Suzuki"'s office, hoping for an explanation

"Master Suzuki" was drinking from a cup of tea. He sat up in his chair and asked "Yuki" to calm and sit down. "Master Suzuki" asked his outrageous student to bring him the tea pot. Then he told him to refill his half-empty cup. "Yuki" impatiently poured the tea in his master's cup until it was almost full, at which he stopped pouring more. Then "Master Suzuki" looked at him and said: "I did not ask you to stop. Keep filling!". "Yuki", now with surprise, continued to pour and kept spelling over more tea outside the cup until "Master Suzuki"order him to stop.

"Master Suzuki" looked to his stubborn student in the eye and said: "When you came to my class, you were like this cup, full of too much knowledge and a lot of concepts and concerns that made you think you had it all in your mind. Therefore, you were not ready to accept anything other than what already know and were used to, and started to analyze too much and to be over smart. You failed because your cup was full."

"If you want success, empty your cup!"

This story is a reflection of a fact in Network Marketing, which I call: "Knowledge Comfort Zone".

Those, who started a Network Marketing business, firstly think that they are self-sufficient with their knowledge and experience, and they know what it takes to succeed. They get confused and frustrated upon others' rejection, and shortly they think they failed and quit the business. And, as human beings, we constantly seek excuses for ourselves, so the whole blame is shifted on Network Marketing. That is why Network Marketing and Direct Selling industry has many negative comments.

The fact, I finally realized, it was all about me. Network Marketing and Direct Selling is a well-established business model and a deep-rooted industry, with promising future. These are facts I'm talking about. (see post "What is Network Marketing?").

The problem is our ego which makes us resistant to the unfamiliar. This is why in Network Marketing you should have a coach, like "Master Suzuki", to let you pass your ego and open your mind and soul for the change to come. "Without a coach, you can not approach"

I recall my early days when I started to be coached by my coach and mentor, who is more than 10 years younger.I admit at first I did not find him trust worthy. But later, when I started to "Empty My Cup" and do as he says, my results went different. Now I look up to him with all due respect. I take it from here and say to him: "Thank you, coach!"

What is Network Marketing?



Network Marketing is the promotion of goods and services directly to potential consumers overtaking the traditional market chain of mediators and brokers, and away from fixed retail locations, throgh one-to-one direct personal presentations, or public meetings, or any other personal contact arrangements up to online selling.

Network Marketing or Direct Selling is based on a very common thing we do as human beings, without much regard to its significant effect on the circulation of the economy; speaking of the "Word of Mouth".

What many of us might not realize is that "Word of Mouth" advertising sells much far better than hard-sell advertisements which we are constantly under its bombardment in all media types. It is also called "Referal Marketing". This gossib we share with our friends about things we try and the personal recommendations we make has a deep impact on others, and affects their financial decisions.

Thorough observation tells that there are lots of businesses around us are growing with no need to spend a cent on advertisements, just for this Word of Mouth.

Word of Mouth

"Ask a fitter and do not ask a doctor" .. The personal recommendations we give to people with whom we reciprocate trust; both Experience and Trust are the foundations of the Network Marketing business model which emerged at the beginings of the 20 century, and continued to grow and spread all over the globe.

Network Marketing provides effective solutions to a broad spectrum of people who wish to run their own business but lack the required experience or fund.

Noadays, under the rising demand on jobs versus limited chances of emplyment (U.S. Job Seekers Exceed Openings by Record Ratio - The New York Times), due to recession and the austerity measures taken by employers, and under inadequate wages, under all this, comes Network Marketing as one of a kind solution to unemployment or the threat of being unemployed or poorly paid.

"Virtual Office", "Home-based Business", "Multi Level Marketing", and other bunch of terms brought to modern economy by Direct Selling industry, and have been emphasized over the last two decades since the internet boom in early 90's.

The following figures highlight the enourmous growth of Direct Selling and Network Marketing:

  • By 2015, experts estimate 50% of American households will be involved in a home-based business
  • Over 27,000 MLM companies have been started in the world
  • Today in the US, there are over 15 Million MLM reps generating over $30Billion in sales

Network Markeing is the world new revolution of income distribution and making fortunes by its fair model that gives everybody an equal chance to start his/her quest for financial independnace, with no risk and unlimited potential of income. Given Hard Work and Continuity, an ordinary person can really make it through Network Marketing.

Best Products in the Right Business


This is QNET motto as a sign of excellence and uniqueness. So there are products and the business opportunity, where both are merely exclusive.

Reputable Network Marketing entities, and QNET on top, are recognized for being exclusive.
In many situations I find my self in front of the question: "Your goods are hard to sell. Why don't you promote for things like mobiles and laptops?! (Someone even spoke about fridges!!). That can sell better". I find it so simple to reply to this objection by saying: "Exclusiveness"

Exclusiveness of the product means you will never find this product with these specs at that price elsewhere. This requires to exclusively own the product being promoted. QNET has more than 20 brands of goods and services registered as Trade Marks (TM) of QNET.

Most, if not all, of MLM scams promote for things they never own, and in many cases the consumer finds out he can never use the product or the service he paid for either because it had never existed or due to delivery issues between those promoting scams and the real producing companies. Besides, the consumer could have had the same product elsewhere at better specs and price.

"QNET brands are over priced due to this claimed exclusiveness!"; an objection often raised. According to that, we can say that Apple smart phone i-phone is over priced compared to Samsung smart phone Galaxy although both do the same set of functions?! The comparison has to be held based on fair knowledge of the pros and cons of the comparables.

QNET products have to be compared against their peer products sharing the same characteristics and carrying out the same functions. Out of experience I can say there are no products that can match QNET's. Yet, as an approach to refute this overpricing objection, in the following posts we shall spot light on QNET brands and check them out against what is there in the market.

Hello World!


I'm Tarik Mohamed Addanassoury from Egypt. My close friends call me "Dinos". I'm 33 years old. Married and father of two children. I work as IT specialist for the Regional Office of the World Health Organization in Cairo.

I joined QNET late 2011. The journey with QNET has changed me a lot. Network marketing as an industry, and QNET in the heart of this industry, has deep impact on millions of people around the world.
